Nook HD help

I just got the Nook HD tablet and am trying to download a few games like Angry Birds and a few books from the Barnes & Noble app store. But when I launch the store app on the Nook, it just times out and then quits. I have posted this at help forums at Nook Forum, Barnes & Noble support forums, and other tech sites, but have not been able to solve the issue. If any Nook pros can help, that would be great!
